Currently you can only set the Sequencer end point, by pressing the Seq Length button and the corresponding step while in sequencer mode. It would be great if you could set both the end and begin point by pressing on two separate steps (simultaneously or one after the other) while holding down the Seq Length button. This would allow you to use a long sequence as a reservoir of many shorter subsections which can be activated in performance in a flexible manner, making the sequencer much more powerful and expressive.

Good idea. Agreed.

Would be a great add on

totally aggree. When I first played arround with the sequenzer, I Intuitively searched the start point.
This would be another dimension. 64 steps are quite a lot for more than one sequenze.

Agree, this is easy to implement and very useful.
Start and end point could be set by "double pressing" or "shift pressing" a step (using some button as shift - like the Seq-button). Best if one hand can be used. Some logic must be defined to decide if a press on one of the steps between start and end means "set new start" or "set new end".
Could be done by using the sequencer knobs "<" and ">" as shift keys. Hold "<" and press a step = new start, Hold ">" and press a step = new end. Minimal change, great value!

Very good idea!
Beeing able to change start and end single handed would be a bonus.

I like that.
A single handed version could be done with something like pressing (e.g.[1]) "Sequencer" + "<" or ">", blinking the Sequencer button, then the next press on a step button would set the start or end. There could also be a time out whereby the Sequencer button stops blinking to indicate that. Both your immediate action and the delayed (single handed) action could even exist together with no conflict.
[1] - The most logical button chording for setting the end, "SEQ Length" + ">", is taken by Extend & Duplicate, so we need another button, and for a timeout one with a LED would be good. Perhaps "Patterns" or "Link" would be better since you don't stand the chance of accidentally stopping the sequencer by using those.

yes this would be a very useful feature .. especially for live performance
