Title: [Solved]Problem after upgrading Collection V
Post by: Drbone on May 20, 2017, 12:49:50 pm
After upgrading Collection V (yesterday), Ableton Live can not open VSTs. I got message: This VST plugin is not compatible with Live. Reaper can not open VSTs after upgrading, also. Before upgrading everything worked. Can anybody help?

Hello Drbone,

Can you tell me the version of Live you are using and the OS you are running on your computer ?

Regards,

Matthieu

Thank you for your reply Matthieu.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Service pack 1 and Ableton Live Suite 9.6.1 64-bit. I tried Reaper, Studio One 3 and Cakewalk demo versions (all 64 bit) with same results.
This is very frustrating. For years I stood away from soft instruments and ITB. I played CS80 and Mimimoog (not owned) decades ago. That was my dream. I still have Korg Monopoly I bought brand new in 1982. Collection V satisfied 80% of my wishes for vintage synths. After I bought Microbrute last year (and Beatstep Pro and Keystep) I decided to buy Collection V. It was delight. Everything was OK until I upgraded Collection V. Other soft instruments (Softube Modular, Kontakt player, some free plugins) are working without problem.
Excuse my english.

Regards

Drbone

Hi guys,

Could you please check if the vst is properly installed in the same folder as before ?
Do you use standard VST 2 path ? C:\Program Files\Vst ?
You can test also to scan again your plugin in Live. This does the trick for some users here.

Thank you ben arturia. I used C:\Program Files\VstPlugins\Arturia and rescanned in Ableton. Nothing. However, I discovered all files in that folder are dated 2016. I used search and found arturia dlls in d:\VST plugins64\arturia. They are dated 2017. Switched vst folder in live, rescanned, and everything is ok. Good. But my c: is ssd and d: is hdd, and I wanted it in c:. I used c: path in ASC. What can I do? I don't want to use another activation.

Hi Drbone,
Don't worry you won't use another activation.
Simply set the VST folder in the ArturiaSoftwareCenter settings then rerun the installers.
Or you can manually move the dll in the folder of your choice.
Best
Ben
