Title: How to Modulate Only External Synths via CV Outputs?
Post by: tomoe97 on February 08, 2017, 07:24:14 pm
In his splendid review of the MatrixBrute for SOS (February 2017), Gordon Reid claims to have "created complex modulation signals that weren't routed to the sound I was playing on the MatrixBrute itself, but rather directed to the CV outputs and then on to other synths." How does one accomplish this? Every modulation routing I have created in the Matrix always seems to modulate the MatrixBrute itself, as well as anything connected to its respective CV outputs. How do I route such modulation signals through the Matrix to the CV outputs alone?

You'd have to use a mod destination which doesn't take effect in the patch in questions. E.g. use the PW column for an oscillator that you don't use the square wave output from.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try.
