Unfortunately current version 1.0.1.15 doesen't forward midi sysex messages sent from computer (connected via. USB) to midi out on the KeyStep, when MIDI THRU is enabled.
This would add great value to the KeyStep, as one could eg. a patcheditor on computer and simultaneously play the patch on the KeyStep.

same issue: RK-002 cable cannot be updated/programmed via the keystep which is a pain really...

I think this is a pretty important feature that is apparently also absent from the beatstep pro.
My scenario is the following:
I have a midi controller for my synth so I want to connect the 3 devices this way:
Controller -> Keystep -> Synth
So I can play the synth and control the parameters at the same time. (and my controller doesn't have a midi thru if that's what you are wondering...)
And as you guys pointed out it doesn't work because the keystep filters the sysex, so my controller information doesn't go through
That's very frustrating!!!!
Hpoefully this gets considered at some point!

I would also like to see Sysex messages forwarded through Midi Thru. IMO this is a critical function that completes the Keystep's offering. As it stands right now, it's a huge limiting feature in versatility with older equipment that relies on external editors (Oberheim Matrix 1000)

I tried to send some patches to my Volca FM via KeyStep - (MIDI thru) - couldn't do it :(
It's a shame as I don't have any other MIDI interface ...

I'm in exactly the same boat. It's not something I expected but it would be really handy for me right now.

YES! I assumed if I put the KeyStep's MIDI OUT in THRU mode, I could run Dexed, and hook up computer -> KeyStep -> Volca FM so that I could a) send patches with Dexed, and b) play notes with the KeyStep. I was playing around for a while trying to figure out what I was doing wrong until I saw this thread and learned it's a missing feature on the KeyStep.
If Arturia is watching, *PLEASE* update the KeyStep to allow this! Thanks!

Please Arturia, I really wish this fonction was implemented as well. I want to transfer patches to my TX816 (DX7) from DEXED.

I'd love to see this feature on KeyStep too :)
I was just trying to use KeyStep to update the firmware on a Mother-32 via Borne Send SX, but noticed it only seems to pass note messages and not SysEx, so I've just ordered a USB-to-MIDI adapter instead. It would be really handy feature to have in a future version.

Yes - I need this feature on the Keystep 37, please!
Yesterday I tried to connect everything together to use Dexed as a patch editor for my Volca FM and the Keystep 37 in between.
Though everything else worked quite nicely, I failed sending the patches to the Volca FM.
At least now I know the reason for that.
Sysex forwarding via MIDI THRU would be very welcome!

+1, I too need this. It seems I will have to use another USB-MIDI interface and find a way how to merge two inputs to an output :(

It is a bit crazy that the keystep 37 doesn't send sysex when midi thru is on.
Come on Arturia hurry up and get this sorted.
