Title: Matrix tuning is still flat.
Post by: jeffbart on October 18, 2016, 12:01:32 pm
It's out of tune, at 0.500 it's a little flatter than A440. It's close to A440 around 0.516.

And, when I get a patch with the voices in 'init' state, no mod of any kind, no detuning of any kind, each one of the voices can sometimes be a little flat or sharp by a cent or two. Just had it against a tuner in Logic. On 'Rotate', the voices are not quite in tune with each other. Hard to hear, but you can meter it.

I can live with the internal 'out of tune' (though I have no idea how this can happen in software..) but i would really like the master tune knob to be at A440 when it's dead in the middle at 0.500

cheers Jeff
[UPDATE] I tested using 'template single'. In the 'Voices' page, all detuning was set to '0'. But, after moving each one up and down and back to '0', the internal tuning seemed to fix itself. It is as if the detuning settings were not accurately called up, until manually overridden. I"ve saved it as a user template, and it recalls in tune (with itself, but still flat compared to A440)

A few Arturia synths are oddly out of tune, this is kind of annoying, and never acknowledged.

Matrix tuning still flat. I know 'out of tune' is fashionable and analog ....but can it please be calibrated to be perfectly in tune so that A440 = .500?

And, your Template Single needs to have each detune setting reset, then resaved, otherwise your basic template has out of tune voices despite the detune saying '0'. Check it against a tuner, you will see.

Still not fixed in 2.1.0.205

Has the tuning issue been fixed at all? It would be good to have it in tune/A440 when the value says .500.

Cheers Jeff
