Title: Edd Kalehoff Schafer Beer commercial sound
Post by: sdavidson on August 02, 2016, 12:33:29 am
Hi. I'm a HUGE fan of Edd Kalehoff's work. I already have the Modular V2 software and I would like to know how to create those watery sounds I hear from Edd's 1973 commercial for Schafer Beer. If anyone would be kind enough to send attached screenshots of how the wires should be connected to the Modular to create the sounds, I'd appreciate it.

BTW, I don't drink at all.

Hi,

I can't give you what you ask for. Unless one have the sound it can take a long time to recreate if it's even possible to make the excact same sounds.

But if this is the sounds-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Lo6BTt7-OU  -then it sounds like  envelopes is being used for filter modulation, and a Sample+Hold is used for the bubling modulation and maybe a Dual Trigger is used. Can't tell for sure. And can't tell what filters that are used.
Also Reverb and Delay and perhaps also other effects are used

I can only suggest you study those modules and experiment. Not just with those but with the whole instruments possibilities.

Perhaps someone have the sound. But i would'nt count on it.

But good luck and have fun.

BTW - I do drink a bear sometimes. :)
