Title: When will SolinaV support (standard Midi) Sustain?
Post by: looneytunes on May 20, 2016, 11:46:05 pm
Hello Arturia,

This seems to be a long-standing issue that Arturia seem to resist addressing.  Why?

This hampers usability.

This also creates inconsistency (sonically) when instruments are layered (i.e. in Analog Lab).

Can we get (optional) support for CC64 to assign to infinite sustain?

Thanks, Regards,
Kevin L

The proposed solution on the FAQ page is to midi-map the sustain pedal (cc64) to sustain-length parameter on the Solina.  This is not the same as what is being requested (infinite-hold), and it only yields sustains ~ 3-4 seconds total.

What is desired is the same as what is described as 'Legacy "HOLD" sustain mode' on the ProphetV.  This will provide infinite sustain from a footswitch (until the footswitch is released).

For usability, sometimes it is better to provide options that break from the original specification of the emulated machine.

Best,
Kevin L

+1 for a 'legacy hold' mode in the Solina V.

Best,
Martin

I agree with Kevin why arturia add so many feature that wasn't there on the original solina and refuse to add a sustain pedal!  It should be on the next update!!!  and on all you're emulation!!!

Thank you for adding CC64 support (Midi Sustain) to your plugins.  This makes a big difference for usability.
