Title: Competition for the ARP2600 V ?
Post by: Amalgamoth on April 22, 2016, 11:43:59 pm
Sonivox has introduced their own emulation of the 2600, the TimewARP.
It's going to cost double as much, but maybe Arturia needs to re-assess their own version, despite the formula of True Analogue Emulation.

I have no problem with the Arturia version, brings a lot to my recordings.

Oh, I found out that TimewARP has been around for a while, and that it used to belong to Way Out Ware. Now it's owned by Sonivox and it has been developed further and upgraded. From what I have read in reviews a considerable number of people think it sounds more like a real ARP2600.
If that is indeed true, I guess that means that Arturia need to step up their game with the ARP2600 V and find ways of upgrading it.
I mean, I've read some think it's the least of all their synths (as opposed to the Oberheim).
