Title: Help recreating my favorite Mg sound
Post by: io1970 on March 12, 2015, 03:20:22 am
Hi!

Can someone offer me some pointers on how to recreate this sound?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHwLbPj9PLE

Such an amazing sound... might have been made on the Mg Voyager from what I hear but is there any chance it can be replicated in the MiniMg V?

Many thanks!

Which part of the sound are you talking about? The bass line or something else? I have a Rack Mount Voyager so if you let me know what you're looking for maybe I can help.

Can't do chords on a Mg Voyager; just like the Mini Mg hardware unit it can't do chords. One note only. Possibly one could emulate it from a monophonic synth with chorus, delay and pitch shift. I tried it by detuning the oscillators on the Voyager but couldn't get close enough. You could get close with the Mini Mg V but I doubt the internal chorus and delay would get you THAT sound. Nice thing with the Arturia synth is you can play chords.
