Title: Compatability with Lion?
Post by: Gothboy on December 07, 2014, 08:49:07 pm
I currently own the V Collection 3 and I'm interested in upgrading to 4. I'm noticing however that the recent updates for all the instruments in the collection start at 10.8 for mac yet the Solina, Matrix 12 and Vox V manuals all say compatible with 10.7.  Because my Mac is an early 2006 1.1 computer I can't use 10.8 mountain Lion.  I'm running Lion 10.7.5 is the download version of Matrix 12 10.7 compatible?

Hello

We don't officialy support 10.7 neither 32bit on all mac os versions, but we tested it, and it works.
We provide a commodity compatibility with it,
Known issues are related to the use of 32 bit live and logic mostly.
As we moved toward morecent OS and tools versions their is a risk we can't maintain it.

You can test that it works by installing the demo versions.

Just go on arturia.com/downloads and install without activating any of our softwares to test it for free.
Warning: the sound stops after ~20mn, and you can't save presets with this demo versions.

Best

Thanks for the reply.  What I don't understand is why there was never an update for Lion on any of the V collection instruments.  Lion has been more or less past over.  The updates are for 10.5 and 10.6 so why no support for 10.7?  I did briefly test The Matrix on my system in Live and it was like a ridiclous 40% cpu on one track by itself.

What are the known issues related to the use of 32 bit live and logic?
