Title: Spark 2 Modular Editor
Post by: karsten on November 30, 2014, 05:25:18 pm
Hi guys,
I recently started editing instruments in the modular editor of Spark 2 (2.0.1 Build 400). Some approaches and software problems make this really difficult. Sometimes it is really hard to get an idea to a quick result.

Software problems:
1. When deleting and inserting modules i once got my project in a state that when reloading it, Spark 2 hangs forever. This problem really limits the joy of experimenting around with the modules.
2. There are some problems with the range and coarse tune of the oscillators. Sometimes changing the range does nothing. Sometimes changing the range by one value up results in a rise by two octaves instead of only one. I didn't check this, but I think, after loading a project, range doesn't reflect the actual value.
3. Tooltips on the parameters only randomly show up.

Difficult approaches:
1. The space for editing in the unsizeable main windows is too small. Even editing small instruments results in frequent scrolling.
2. The exclusive access to the hidden parameters through the macro section is cumbersome and unprecise. I usually take temporarily control to many of the hidden parameters. Because there are only six macros, i occasionally have to reuse them. After changing them i never get to know which value they had before.
3. I'd like to have a module to multiply an audio signal by a control signal. Actually i have to use a complete minimixer for that which takes much space. Another module to multiply a control signal by a constant value would be nice, too.
4. On fine tune, the display of the value in the tooltip is too unprecise. The same value in the tooltip is used for a whole range of values.

Thanks in advance,
Karsten

HI karsten , i'm please to say that some of your problem have been addressed in the next update coming soon like zoom in and out so you can see the whole modular. I've tested the range and that seems to be working ok. tooltips seems ok to me as well.
