Hi everyone
I have just got my hands on a beatstep and i think it is going to be pretty good for what I want. I am using it to control a Commodore 64 :-)
However I am struggling to work out how to change the note length on the beatstep itself. Is this not possible? I do not use it connected to a PC when making music and it seems as the 'gate' option and legato are only available to alter for an entire sequence and on the midi control centre software.
Surely if this is the case a little tweak of the firmware....something like hold shift and turn a knob when in sequencer mode changes the length of the note rather than the pitch.
Anyway if I am missing something please someone let me know!
Cheers.

You can get the firmware update here: http://www.arturia.com/products/controllers/beatstep/resources and directions here: http://www.arturia.com/faq/utilization/beatstep-firmware_update
You can control the step length on the unit with the update but you can not control it per step, just per pattern.

Can you sequence a CC to control the envelope on the sound you are using instead ?

I dunno if you are looking for gate, swing and legato, but it sure gave me a hand! ;)
Check it up in the link! ;)
