Title: Copying/saving one instrument in a pattern in Spark 2
Post by: joey_potato on September 03, 2014, 08:21:49 pm
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out if I can copy or save just one instrument in a sequence. I'd like to have a library of bass drum patterns, snare drum patterns, hi-hats, etc., and be able to recombine them.

I saw something like this demo'd in an instructional video for Spark 1.x in which you drag the selected instrument and it creates a midi file of just that instrument - I assume that you could also drag it back into Spark. But I couldn't recreate this in Spark 2.

Thanks for any help,
Joe.

HI joe, exporting patterns for an instrument is not possible in spark2 .
exporting sequencer pattens is in the top left corner of the sequencer view.
you could see if your DAW can dissolve  midi notes into separate lanes

Thanks for the quick reply - it's good to know I wasn't missing something. I'll look into whether I can do some of this in Logic with patterns I export from Spark.

Relatedly, I assume that it's also not possible to copy part of a sequence and repeat it - i.e. a repeating bass drum part?
