Title: play midi notes on new track while outputting audio to different track
Post by: xenomachino on June 05, 2014, 08:33:11 pm
let me explain:

track 1
i have mid notes programmed in Ableton's midi editor which are playing the Brute Audio (so i'm not using the keys).

track 2
i have a VST synth instrument i want to play using the Brute's Keys

Is it possible to do these 2 at the same time?

I tried a couple things but can't figure it out. Is there a way to do this?

Help appreciated!

This should now be possible with the latest firmware. You need to make sure you've activated local off (CC 122 I believe) so that the keyboard doesn't activate the minibrute's sound engine.

Set Ableton to play midi out to your brute's midi in on whatever channel you've set, and set your brute's output channel to match your softsynth in ableton.

That should do it!
