@Bruno

A large number of Minibrute owners,  Arturia customers, you know the people who buy the products that pay your salary? Well they requested local off and I see you have finally included it (almost 2 years after the initial requests and I suspect only because of the new Minibrute SE). Well done, except for one problem... you have not provided information on how to implement it.

Do you guys purposely try to annoy your customers or is it just incompetence?

Arturia - the guys who will...

cook you a beautiful meal - but don't give you a fork
lend you a Ferrari - without the keys
build you a modular - but provide no patch cables

Or maybe it's just an oversight after a week of work?

By the way, it took me 1 minute to find out! Maybe there is another way but i use MIDI CC number 122 messages: with a value of 127 local is ON, with a value of 0 local is OFF. Just test it in logic pro, working great. At your own risk if it's not the "official" way to do it.

Thanx Bruno :)

It's implemented as described in the MIDI specification(MIDI CC number 122), we usually don't provide implementation details on what is standard.

Hi Bruno,

could you please tell me the "Standard CCs" for LFO re-triggering and Arpeggiator mode?

Thanks!

Chris

Great, finally local off :)
but do I get it right, local off function just works with se and not with the old black one?
I can't just try myself, because I sold my minibrute (shame on me) now thinking of buying a black one again if its got local off.
Thanks

local OFF is working with the black one too. you have to send CC message 122 to turn OFF and ON LOCAL

Sorry to be somewhat off topic, but by 'black one' do you guys mean 'blue one'? Because my minibrute is blue.

The original promo shots were of a dark grey unit:

My minibrute and the one I've seen in stores is this blue unit:

interesting, I wouldn't call that one blue at all.   :)

But yep, that's what he's talking about.

Great! I guess we don't have to wait for a local off button to be implemented in Brute Connection another 2 years... Bruno, please spend 2-3h more and spare us a lesson about "standard CC numbers for local off" please....

I just installed the new firmware and I'm having an issue with the LFO.  In free mode, the LFO doesn't oscillate within the range from 12 o'clock to the slowest setting.  sweeping it from fastest to slowest, it does indeed oscillate, but as soon as the pot goes past 12 o'clock, it turns off.  In Arp mode, it turns off at 3 o'clock.  Turning the brute off and on resolves the issue, but as soon as I begin midi sequencing it from the DAW, it reverts back to disabling the LFO.  Please help!  I like the new sub octave feature (the -2 and -1 lights both turning on is super cool), but I don't mind going back to the old firmware if need-be :)

EDIT:  re-installed the firmware, and I think everything is all good!!  Will contact support if the issue reappers

Thanks for this release Bruno et al. I'm curious though as though as to why no email was sent to registered users about the update nor was it included in the Arturia newsletter. This firmware update is quite significant, I would think Arturia would want to spread the word for those Minibrute users who opt not to participate in the forum. Just my .02.

Cheers.

it available on page 11 of MiniBrute Connection User manual:
ftp://downloads.arturia.com/downloads/minibrute/manual/MINIBRUTE_CONNECTION_Manual_EN.pdf

for any midi capable device, you have to send CC 122, with value 0 for Local ON, and 127 be set the minibrute as local OFF

btw the new software provided has no option to update the firmware if an update fails, i had to download an older firmware (incl software) to get my brute to respond again after a failed update and after that i could finally update it to 1.0.3

After you disconnect from Logic, does it then stay that way? and would the same workaround apply for the wierd midi note blocade that happens when you use an external sequencer?

The link posted by Bruno is broken and the BruteConnection software also cannot locate a firmware update when clicking "check update"

In fact a large number of links to Arturia resources are now broken.

Where is the most up to date firmware to be located ?

Most of the forum links are broken because they updated there main website and it changed the structure

Hope this helps

When will the midi out transmit midi clock data? That one feature would make my little synth for me... Without it, it's just a headache and the question "Why doesn't it?"

Hi. I'm new at this.

Does the new feature of "Local ON/OFF supported" mean I can turn off the local clock?

Does this mean the ARP will be based on an external midi clock instead?

Thanks.

Answered my own question via Google.

LOCAL ON/OFF : MIDI Channel Message that sets whether your keyboard is going to trigger its internal sounds (Local ON) or not (Local OFF). This is a vital parameter to have control over in order to avoid loops and double-triggers when your keyboard is part of a larger, computer-involving rig of equipment.

Hi!

Any way to store the LOCAL setting into flash memory (i have to redo it eact time i turn off the MB..)?

if i get it right the manual says we have to use the editor to store something in flash memory but local setting can't be edited in the software editor...
