Title: How can I change the image for a user project/preset?
Post by: Mr. Roboto on May 08, 2014, 12:24:07 pm
I created a new project (aka "preset") with an image. Now after some modifications I want to change that image for the project/preset but I can't find out how to do that in Spark 2. Also looking at the filesystem did not help.

Oh Jesus, how simple was that?
Thanks a lot for your help. Sometimes it's difficult to think in a more simple way.  ;)

Depending on what OS you are running then you can find the images here

/Library/Arturia/Spark/Spark Library/Factory/

In each of the kit folders you will see 2 files, a .dat file and either a .jpg or a .png. You could copy the image to another folder and use that as a template. I tend to just write the name of the kit so I have a visual key when I'm scrolling through kits.

I think 320x320 is the current image size for optimum quality.

That's way too big. It's a thumbnail, 100 to 200 square is more than adequate

Yes, thanks. I knew about the path but was having problems with an already created user bank. The problem is that the referenced graphics (at bank creation time) do not get copied over. They only get mentioned in the *.dat.
My advice: never, ever modify the dat files with an editor (even if it might look like plain text). You might loose hours of work.  :-[

Regarding the size: I would recommend someting between 250 and 500 pixel. 125 pixels are fine for the library preview but if you click on your bank/preset in the library tab the graphic might look terrible.
