Title: multiple Spark plug ins and name thereof
Post by: stuey on May 05, 2014, 10:27:51 pm
When installing the new Spark 2 and with older version of the plug in, there are always 2 plug ins that show in your DAW software. In Pro Tools, 1 is under a spark rtu menu, the other is under the normal Arturia list.

On speaking with Arturia tech support today, I was informed that I was choosing the wrong plug in. I'd just upgraded the software and i still have a 1.7.1 plug in, installed. Why could I even choose the old version if I had just installed the new. Why does it install the plug in, in two places, and do we need both versions?

Do we know why this is?

Is it not possible to:

A, Name the plug ins accordingly so the user knows which version he or she is choosing
B, Script a deletion of the old plug in version when upgrading to the new.
C, Be able to choose the plug ins, one wants to instal.
D, all of the above

Thanks, Stuart

Hi,
the problem is that the installer does not delete the RTAS plugin (it should you are right).
You can manually delete it:
- Mac OSX: /Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins/Spark.dpm
- Windows: C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins\Spark.dpm

We will fix it in the installer.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
Kevin
