Title: Sequencer start/stop
Post by: voltagecontrol on April 27, 2014, 11:43:40 am
Hi

Im using Arp2600 with Ableton live.
Im trying to figure out how to sync the arp sequencer to the daw sequencer (ableton)

I.e pressing play/transport button in ableton will start the arp sequencer as well.

Can this be done??

I'm no expert with the ARP but I think the sequencer needs to be gated via a midi note and will be in sync with the DAW as long as the midi sync button is on. Sounds like you want it to behave like a an Evolver so that it runs as soon as play is pressed without a midi note? There might be a way though but I don't know what it is, sorry...

Yes , i want the sequencer in the arp2600 to run when i press the play button in Ableton.
Not using any midi clips in Ableton. Just want the sequence to start like it would if i pressed the start button in the arp 2600 sequencer.
The stop signal is in midi sync cause if the arp sequencer is running and i press stop in Ableton, the arp sequencer will stop.
But this is not happening when i press start.

After all these years its still not possible to sync the sequencer transport(start/stop) function to its external host. (In this case Ableton 9) ??
