Title: Recording from 32 AF to Audacity (mac)
Post by: holyrodent on May 09, 2012, 06:03:10 am
Hello everyone,

This is my first post here and I am just learning about soft synths from years of hardware synth use and misuse.

I am trying to record in Audacity, but the controller/software doesn't so up in the input drop down menu. Should I be be using different software to record? Any advice would be helpful.

many thanks, Don

The AF keyboard doesn't produce sounds, it's a pure MIDI keyboard. All sounds are generated by the AF software on your mac, wether it is in the standalone version or as a plugin in a DAW. You'll need some audio routing tool on your mac, like JackOSX or Soundflower. With such tools you could re-route the audio output from AF or your DAW to Audacity's input.

Thanks for the reply Vaikl, I know the controller doesn't produce any sound on its own; I am not that much of a noob ;)

I will check out JackOSX and sound flower
