Title: Problems with Synth programming
Post by: JacksonP on June 05, 2011, 04:03:17 pm
In this thread I'd like to concentrate on some Synth programming problematic:

(I already described first three in another post)
1. There're bugs with mouse arrow positioning and it's very annoying when you try give exact Pitch values (semitones)
2. You should have possibility to transpose the whole pattern with some interval
3. Chance to give pitch values with MIDI would save lot of time.

4. The first pitch value does not come out right when pattern is played first time. What you here is the default pitch value of the instrument. When pattern starts again (second time) you'll here it correct. Same is with other parameters too like Decay: So pattern seems to start with default values, no matter what have you done in step sequencer. This is a BAD bug and it should be fixed ASAP cause it's also disturbing exported audio files!

And this one would be maybe the most fascinating new feature to include in this synth-part:

(+) instead of using Spark (or own sample) presets you could send midi-notes (at least pitch, decay (=note one/off), velocity -values) to some external device via its midi out. Or maybe use some other Arturia V-synth. Imagine that you could run Spark as your main sequencer which controls some other Arturia synths and also your hardware. At least live players would probably like this idea! Basically I'd very much like to expand Spark Standalone possibilities; I think it's very promising thing which I hope can (in future) stand alone without help of some DAWs like Logic.  :D

Points 1 and 4 were pointed out during beta testing... maybe soon we'll see a fix to those.
Some prioritisation must've been done to know what bugs to fix for the launch and I'm guessing (hoping) those 2 will be fixed soonish, for the sake of the synth bass pattern tweakers.

Points 2 and 3 are cool suggestions :)
