Title: 45 Minutes?
Post by: glen dale on June 09, 2010, 08:21:17 pm
Hi,

I'm just curious ... why does it take about 45 minutes to update the Origin? I've just updated the TI in 5 minutes.

Anyway, if the result is ok, I'm fine with it :)

Cheers,
Chris

That's because the update data go internally thru a serial 31 Kbauds line (that is the serial standard midi speed), which slows down the whole process. This is something we could enhance someday (we have 1 or 2 solutions). This is however not our top priority today as you may imagine.

Yes, I can imagine ...  but I was curious :) So thanks for your answer! The update is finished now and seems to work!

Thanks for your efforts!

Cheers,
Chris

The last update for my Ti took 12 minutes plus th software installation on the pc plus rebooting. ... ok, still much faster than Origin Updates, but as far as it runs without supervising, it doesn't matter for me.

actually, it's a special mode from arturia, to prevent addiction. They are sure that you won't use your origin for at least 45 minutes. sometimes a break is good  ;D
