Title: Power supply question for the 32-key Analog Factory Experience
Post by: keyzone72 on May 18, 2010, 11:09:14 pm
I hope someone can clarify some confusion. I would like to purchase a power adapter for my 32-key Analog Factory Experience keyboard.  Here is why I am confused:

• Page 5 of the owner's manual indicates you need a 12V DC 1500mA power supply

• The Arturia website (under hardware specs) indicates you need a DC 12V, center positive, current Draw : 500 mA (AC Adaptor)

• The back side of the box says DC 9V 1500mA

Which one is it? I do not want to buy the wrong power supply and damage my Analog Factory Experience keyboard.

Thanks.

1500mA is pretty huge, it was a typo in the first versions of the User's Manual.
Consider that an USB slot should theoretically deliver up to 500mA (much less in most cases), so 500mA is more than sufficient for your keyboard.

Basically, you won't damage your unit with a power supply that delivers more; you must consider that the keyboard "asks" for some current, the power supply "delivers" this current until the maximum it can provide is reached.

So what is the correct power supply rating? You didn't clarify that in your post.

Thanks.
