Title: vocoder???
Post by: starbearer on May 07, 2010, 03:35:46 am
can this soft synth be used as a vocoder?

i am a bit of an idiot at this synth.

right now... im working on a song that needs a vocoder. im sick of my micro korg. it just doesn't hold up sonically with the arturia arp.

i guess my biggest issue is that i can't seem to get my mic into the motu driver into the input... the inputs show up in the arp's input selections in a weird way...

can anybody help guide me in the right direction? is there at least a basic vocoder patch that someone can share so i can get the right idea?

Sorry...the arp-2600 has no vocoder function.

It is possible to put your audio through it....but it's not a vocoder.

It's an old topic, but for anyone interested I would recommend the Virsyn Matrix and the Xils-lab Xils V+ (based on the Roland VP330 vocoder plus), two quite different types of vocoders, but very good in their own way,- the Matrix is used by Kraftwerk and Karl Bartos (ex-Kraftwerk) by the way.

If you happen to use the FL Studio, the  Vocodex that comes with the DAW is quite nice too.  :-)
