my miniMg sounds aren't working. all i'm getting a
is crackling and then silence when i try to use them.
they are working fine in standalone mode.
using logic pro 9.1.1, macbook pro, analog factory 2.5.
thanks.
-
Hi, I have the same problem, but I use Logic Express 8 and I planned to upgrade to Logic Express 9 hoping to solve this problem. Since you're using Logic 9, I now doubt that this will be useful...
By the way, I also have the awful problem of Logic crashes when adding AF 2.5 as an AU plug-in. It seems that this happen when adding AF to an existing project or starting from a template. It seems to work fine when starting from scratch on a new project. I'm pretty sure to make Logic crash if I start from a project Template, adding AF to that.
-
Another user with problem with the miniMg, all quiet for me as well. I'm on Cubase Studio 4.52, Analog Factory 2.5 and Macbook. In standalone it works fine.
-
Same problem here, I reported this ages ago and was supposed to be fixed in 2.5. AF crashes about 50% of the time I load it, especially a second instance.
-
Same issue on Cubase 4 and 5
-
Hey...what´s this all about?
I have the exact same problem. Using Logic 9 on Mac OS 10.6.4
Very annoying. The miniMg sounds in v2.5 are dead silent after a cracking sound. The other banks are working. I have tried to get in touch with support about this but awaiting answer. Have anyone else of you guys with the same problem reached some sort of solution or recieved an answer of some kind? Also wondering if there´s a money back guarantee for this kind of malfunctions of the product?
-
same here. logic 9. snow leopard. latest updates.
cracking sounds and then dead silent. and those cracky sounds are speaker-killers.
-
I have an iMac with OSX10.6.4 & the Mini Mg works fine for me with Cubase LE4. My main gripe is no chorus & delay adjustment with the Jupiter 8. Sometimes Cubase is not retaining my AF2.5 settings, not sure if it's AF or Cubase problem.
-
Hi i have the same problem with pro tools HD 8.04 on Mac Snow Leopard.

HI,
the same here with Mac OS X 10.6.2 and Logic 9.1.1
In general: using the Plugin and Hardware in a DAW such as Logic is very unstable...I sometimes experience cut-offs of sound for a period of time...sometimes I have to restart the DAW....but this seems erratic and not reproducible. However, some sounds do not work and this is reproducible.
Btw. in stand-alone mode (not using a host DAW) the same sounds work fine.
Hope this will be addressed.
Tom

Exactly the same problem!!! MiniMg sounds NOT WORKING! Pleaaaase!!! Logic 9.1.1 OS X 10.6.4 iMac.
:( :o :-\
Thanks and best regards Per

Unfortunately it is a known problem affecting some Snow Leopard machines: some users cannot use MiniMg-V presets, but some others have incompatibility on the ARP2600V or Prophet-V ones...
We are working on this filthy bug resolution, but I have no bug-fix release date yet to offer, and no immediate workaround known.
-
Any news?
Complete sheit we can't work with this crap.
-
Hey Arturia,
this is really VERY annoying now. At least 8 months that this bug is reported AND bug is the wrong name as it is making the product UNUSABLE...I was intending to buy more stuff from you (Jupi8V and miniMg V) but hey, if you can't resolve this problem soon I will consider alternatives like ohmforce etc.
-
Just a quick note: it sounds like latest Mac OS X 10.6.5 update fixes the problem, at least on our machines here.
Could anyone with an up-to-date Snow Leopard confirm this point?
-
Sorry Antoine...can NOT confirm this (OS X 10.6.5, Logic 9.1.3 (1697.87) (32-bit) with AF 2.5 (21415) on a MacPro with 2x2.26 Quad Core Xeon and 16GB RAM).
In logic the miniMg sounds do not work...a crackle then nothing...the other synth sounds seem to work...especially in a new empty project in logic. I notice strange and not reproducible behaviour like cracks once in while and suddenly midi going bananas and not able to panic unless plugin is taken from the project....
Situation on my setup is even worse than before especially when I insert AF in an existing project with other plugins already initiated. trying to play a miniMg V sound produces one initial crackling noise but no sound after that and new: from then on my logic would be muted and not produce any audible output anymore although the meter show that sound is generated...I need to close (another loud crackling noise when closing btw.) and open newly to be able to continue to work.
This behaviour btw. also happens when after inserting analog factory in logic I press the keyboard with NO AF preset yet selected at all: a crackle...then I select any synth preset and no sound anymore from then onwards...
And I don't even refer to not being able to use the nice midi controller you ship with it...in my setup it will not be recognised by AF not even by OS X at all. Only when Logic is closed and in standalone mode the keyboard would sometimes be automatically detected by AF and would work as well as the miniMg sounds. Sometimes it would not be detected neither by OS X nor by AF...it then also depends on which USB plug/port I connect it to...but nothing really reproducible (I work close to software engineering myself).
So you see, in my setup it is not even the miniMg sounds...the whole product incl. hardware I cannot use and using it standalone only and route the sound into my DAW is just not even a workaround for me! To me it seems related to handling MIDI, but maybe I am wrong here...it's just very frustrating as the sounds are really great...And yes: I have other MIDI devices/ports/patchbays in use and am not willing to switch these off.
-
Hi everyone. I confirm that it does not work with OS X 10.6.5 and Logic 9.1.3 (32bits). Minimmog still freezes audio :-[ Same case as uncle_tom1966
Cheers (it does not work either on my laptop running 10.6.5 and logic 9.1.3 too - even with nothing is connected to the notebook)
-
Same here... I can NOT confirm it to work. Had it working for a couple of minutes, very happy. But soon the sound of horror came back :-\ iMac i3 OS X 10.6.5 Logic 9.1.3
Sorry!
-
Please Arturia, do not forget us !!! :( MiniMg does not work for a while and still no update :'(
-
I have had this problem in Pro Rools and Logic. However, the miniMg works fine in Live. In Pro Tools and Logic, the patches work if I create an instance of analog Factory and then close and reopen the session. Go figure!
-
Same issue in Pro Tools 8. Crackle then silence.
Have to quit out and relaunch session.
OSX 10.6.5
-
I have the same crack and pop woes as everyone else here in Logic 9. Have just experienced another episode at such a ridiculous volume my ears are ringing! Glad it was at home and not at a gig!
Think I will have to start researching some other brands, Analog Factory is almost unusable, I now have the same disconnection problem with Arp2600 as with MiniMg.
I wonder if deleting the au files and using the vst ones in an au wrapper might fix these problems, or is it likely to cause more? Anyone tried it?
-
Same here. Just got my brand new Analogue Factory and the MiniMg V sounds don't work at all, now seems to affect the ARP ones after a brief period of working they're broken and silent.
Software not fit for purpose, and looking at this thread it looks like Arturia have no idea what the problem is? Better get a refund :(
(Logic Pro 9.1.3, Mac OS X 10.6.6, "MacBookPro6,1" i7 8G RAM).
-
Hello Arturia and Antoine
my sounds are still not working...do you care?
thanks for dealing with this
uncle tom
Btw.: Did you know that for one bad recommendation it takes in average 11 good recommendations to make up in the market? But I guess you rather give endlessly 3for1 deals...
-
ANALOG FACTORY DOES NOT WORK WITH MAC OSX 10.6.6 LOGIC 9
Why is nothing being done about this!!!!! >:(
None of the MiniMg sounds work and theres pops and clicks all over the ARP
Does anyone have it working on an intel Mac with logic 9?
If so HOW?? please share!
-
Nope. Also using intel mac and logic 9. Have had some success using NI Kore2 in Logic 9 as a vst wrapper though.
-
good to hear I am not alone on this. Can not use MiniMg as an AU in Ableton. No Sounds. This company is pure ridiculousness. I've said it before and will not be buying anymore products of theirs.
-
My colleague Thomas is currently testing a patch with a dozen of fellow users, I really hope (as you do) it be released pretty soon.
To say it differently, we don't forget you.
-
Antoine,
glad to hear something is going on. I am more than happy to be part of the testing on my setup if that helps you and the process.
bets regards
uncle tom

Hi everyone,
This filthy bug has poisoned some of you Snow Leopard users, and we have had difficulty to troubleshoot it, but finally here it is: the correcting patch that should restore your MiniMg-V presets inside Analog Factory.
This patch will be posted on the Updates page before the end of the week, but I thought you would enjoy it sooner. Smiley
Let me know if still any issue on your side.
And in all cases, keep up the good vibrations!
Antoine.
-
First I want to thank Antoine for your support and releasing the hotfix early on...
BUT
...the miniMg sounds did work but I did not come to further testing because my Logic crashed and that killed the eLicenser installation which could not be repaired and also muted USB ports (see http://www.arturia.com/evolution/smf/index.php?topic=3626.0 ) and made some USB harddrives go bananas.
I don't even bother repairing that anymore...I wasted so much time with your crappy product. Because I am honest I don't even dare selling the SW and controller to anyone else. I just wasted a couple of hundred euros and a lot of time.
Good bye Arturia - never I will consider and recommend you anymore.
-
that killed the eLicenser installation which could not be repaired
Please send us a screenshot at the Technical Support desk. Nothing can't be repaired.
and also muted USB ports (see http://www.arturia.com/evolution/smf/index.php?topic=3626.0 ) and made some USB harddrives go bananas.
This is more worrying.
Does the symptom also occur on another computer?
Through an USB-hub with its own power supply?
-
I have installed the patch and the miniMg sounds are working, however I am still getting extremely loud audio pops! They are coming thru my imac speakers even with audio turned all the way down. I have not tested thru my actual sound card and monitors as I am afraid of blowing my speakers.
-
Many thanks for the update. The 2.5.1 version works perfectly on my two Macs, OS 10.6.7, Logic 9.1.4 and Live 8.2.2.
Thank you :)
Kind regards,
Chris
PS : for uncle Tom: I think the problem comes from internal component into new Macs. I have the same issue with my MacPro (early 2009). However the keyboard works like a charm with my "old" MacBook Pro (oct. 2006). Apple probably replace some cheap chinese internal components by cheaper chinese internal components :P
