Title: How to software-authorize AF v1 to v2 upgrade?
Post by: Torley on August 03, 2009, 06:40:56 am
Friendly greetings! I contacted Arturia support but haven't heard back in over a week. I presume this is because of reduced support levels at the moment.

Here's my problem: I'm on a Mac Pro with Analog Factory v1, which I upgraded to v2. I'd also like to switch from USB to software (hard disk) authorization.

I read the PDF guides on this forum. But, License Control Center asks for a 32-character license number AND activation code, and I only have a 16-character license number (which came on a card in the AF box). What should I do?

If you have Analog Factory 1, you already have the License activated on your USB dongle (that's why there's no activation code on the card).
Analog Factory 2 should run from the same license (with the USB dongle).

Thanks Sean, but I'm looking for how to transfer my USB-dongle license onto the *hard drive* so I don't have to have the dongle plugged in. Do you know how to do this as I've described above? :)

Hi Torley,

Licenses are transferable only since AF v2.x; ones shipped with 1.x versions are not transferable. At this time you will have to stick with the dongle.

All the best,
Antoine.

Oh, that's too bad. :( But I appreciate the clarity. Thanks.
