Title: PT8: Do Atruria synths work or not?
Post by: Gothboy on June 24, 2009, 10:38:10 pm
Jeesch....what does it take to get a simple question answered from support on this board?!  How about this...do ANY of the Arturia synths work with PT8?!  If only some kind of "Works with PT8 as well as PT7" stickie were put up in announcement it would answer everything for me and I could go ahead and buy them.  ::)

All our synths run pretty well under PT8, except Brass (and the old Storm), provided you installed the latest versions from our Updates pages (http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/downloads/updates.html), and you applied the Digidesign patches (http://www.digidesign.com/support/csupdates).
These forums theoretically are not intended to provide direct Technical Support (even if some exceptions sometimes), but are more targeted towards users mutual help and experience sharing.
So if I say "yes, it works" you might be glad, but I presume you prefer real users experience.  ;)

I would, of course like a response from users...but this board is not exactly populated by enthusiastic users.  I see many post just unanswered and hanging.  I posted in a few different forums here and got no answers from anyone....it IS a bit worrysome.  I even posted on the Digi DUC...one person posted that it was working in PT8 but wouldn't answer further than that.  Because not many are answering posts you might want to pay more attention to posts put up.  All the Arturia synths were once sold through M-audio were they not....and now M-audio has dropped them...another worrying item to the list.  OK, enough finger wagging from me.... :D
Hummm.  "Run pretty well" isn't exactly glowing confidence.  I'm running the PT8cs2 patch and soon I'll apply cs3 so I've got that covered.  All I know is that the demo just does not work well at all running PT8cs2 with 4 processors selected in PT.  I tried going down to 1 and it runs only marginally better.  I just think your posted info needs to be more specific when you post an update.
