Title: Will V2 fix things in Pro Tools?
Post by: Gothboy on June 19, 2009, 05:57:13 pm
I tried out the 2600V demo on my system in Pro Tools 8cs2 in Leopard 10.5.7 and was met with the famously reported issues.  Crazy cpu spikes, triggered sounds ending in stutters followed by "loss of communication with interface" errors making just a pitiful mess. :(  Was the Leopard patch for Pro Tools included in the 1.2 demo?
I was able to wrap the vst however with the VST>RTAS wrapper and it performed well(except the high cpu usage).  So I want to know if Arturia will fix all this in the V2 coming out later this summer.  Anyone know anything?  Could I get an answer from support?  I'd like to know that if I buy this thing it will be with the knoledge that the update will be free and effective in making usable in PT.

As I'm still waiting for the 2600V to arrive by mail I went back to the demo, downloaded and installed the fix for Leopard patch and some things have improved and do seem to be working in PT8.  At a quick glance cpu usage seems better, no noises and unwanted glitch when used with 4 processors selected...BUT....the VCO 1 controls are all surrounded with individual yellow rectangular boxes so it seems there's GUI problems.  This is just at a quick glance...I'll be going over it with a fine comb over the coming days.
