Title: Can't get controller to work with the software under Windows XP
Post by: crowellstudios on July 28, 2008, 12:38:36 am
I just bought this Analog Experience package today, and had no trouble installing the software on my Windows XP SP2 computer, but couldn't get the "plug and play" midi controller to work, period, with any program, in any form. However, my old Korg 25 midi controller will work in Sony Acid with the Arturia synth chosen as my softsynth... this is frustrating, and I will never buy another Aturia product if I can't get an answer to this problem.

If the keyboard is recognized by your OS, a correct setting should work: launch AFE ins standalone mode, go to File > Audio & Midi preferences menu entry, and check the "USB Audio device" as your main MIDI input, et voilą!
Hope this helps.  :)

Unfortunately, Analog Factory in standalone mode usually hangs... and when it doesn't, it doesn't show any available midi selections, the field is blank. This, even though the computer recognizes the controller as soon as I plug it in.

Here is the solution, quoted from a posting 4 pages earlier...

I found a fix that worked for me and I hope it works for anyone else experiencing the same issue. I had to Manually delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values. (maybe only one exists at your place)

To Manually delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values, follow these steps:

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
START > RUN > (Type) REGEDIT (and hit ENTER)

2. Locate the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value under the following key in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} You have to click on this folder to open it up... and then click to highlight Lower Filter.

3. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.

The next time you plug in your controller, it will be recognized as a generic USB input device by your DAW (Sonar 6 in my case)

Thankyou. I had this issue as well. Modifying the registry as stated above fixed it for me.

Cheers mate

Hello.  I have no Lower or Upper Filters in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} folder.  And I still have no keyboard detection.

What's up?  I've tried the arturia_afe.inf file and everthing.  It's not working!

Any suggestions?
