Title: tie/accent
Post by: zsquaredplusc on January 28, 2014, 11:28:47 am
Hi, I'm still absolutely loving my Microbrutes but I was wondering if it would ever be possible to add tie and/or accent function to the sequencer, I am not sure whether either of these could be implemented in a firmware update but hoping maybe they could. TIA.

Don't know if this is possible even, but it would be nice, if the sequencer would make a tie, if I hold the key down whilst pressing rest, so:
Key press = note
Rest press = rest
Key press and hold + rest press = extension og note duration (or noteoff message)

The text file could be" MIDI note nr. for note", "X for rest" and "- for tie"

Just sayin' (wishing)

Please note, that even if this feature was added, the Microbrute does not support legato portamento. That means you can't do 303-type acid slides on tied notes. It is a hardware limitation as portamento is purely analog just like on any vintage 70s synth.

So portamento is always on between each note, tied or not, or completely off. Try it with an external midi sequencer to hear what I mean.
