Title: Category and Preset knobs won't work in VST
Post by: ikolev57 on August 22, 2013, 08:14:02 pm
I can't get my 49 Laboratory Category and Preset knobs working in Ableton Live VST. It works in standalone mode but not in the VST version. I have updated Laboratory and MCC. Made sure to turn off controller after closing MCC and even used the Store and Setup way and they are being stored but it still does not work. When I move the preset and category adjust it goes from 1-65 and skips all the numbers in betwee. Below is a quote of the solution I have attempted so far.

Please help if you can.

Thank you.

Having problems browsing through the LABORATORY library?

Use the following settings!

Name   Mode   CC Number
Category Adjust      Relative Control
112
Category Select   Control
113
Preset Adjust   Relative Control
114
Preset Select   Control
115

Store these settings and the problem should be solved.

Note: In standalone mode this is working fine, but most DAWs will have problems to translate this to the plugin! In this case I recommend using the following settings to move up and down the preset list.

Name   Function   Mode   CC Number
Category Select    Move Up   Control
20
Preset Select   Move Down      Control
21

BTW: You can then use the adjust encoders for other purposes and change the Mode to Control if needed.

There is a workaround using MidiPipe software and a Laboratory.mipi file. Works once you use that via. Is this still an issue that hasn't been addressed yet by Arturia?

Try the workaround of Dav1d.
