Title: Buying a used player for midi controlling purposes without the software
Post by: aronf13 on August 18, 2013, 11:01:06 pm
I got a used player from guitar center. I didn't mind not getting the software as I have more than enough vst synths already. I just wanted to use the keyboard as a controller. But my DAW doesn't read the keyboard. I can't find any sort of driver installation software online. Do I really have to buy the original software in order to install a driver for this keyboard?

You buy things that support MIDI. Like if you buy a keyboard now-a-days it will almost certainly support MIDI output and input. .... ;D
