Title: 64 bit question
Post by: rbschu on June 18, 2013, 05:48:45 pm
I consider buying either a Spark or two software packages (Spark Vintage Drum Machines + Prophet V) shortly but get confused that I found a forum where there`s statements that the integration in 64 Bit environments is not flawless or at least delicate or is even impossible. I use the latest REAPER version (4.401) as DAW in 64 bit, based on Win 7 (64 bit). Will I face such problems in any of the combinations hardware/software? Thanks for any comment on this issue.

Hi,
short answer: no
long answer: you should not have any problem using Spark or Spark Vintage in 64 bit. You can try to download the latest version (http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/downloads/updates.html#spark) of Spark and use it in demo mode to make sure it is working fine.

hope this helps
Kevin

Wow. Thank you, Kevin. That encourages me. Only one day to get this important question resolved.  :-) May I pose a last simple question here (to you or to anyone who knows)? Is the complete software package "Spark Vintage Drum Machines" included when I purchase Spark? Or is something missing? Thanks in advance.

Yes,
this is not the case for Spark EDM and Spark Dubstep.
If you want these kits you have to buy EDM (http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/products/SparkEDMessentials/intro.html) and Dubstep (http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/products/Spark-DubStep-Essentials/intro.html) expansion packs.
