This may be basic, but whenever I select pads 9-16 they also trigger sounds 1-8 at the same time - is this how it should be?
Just to clarify: When I hit pad 9 it also triggers the sound from pad 1, pad 10 also triggers the sound from pad 2, etc.
In sequencer and tune mode using the 1-16 sequencer buttons it does not, then only the sounds for 9-16 are heard (as expected)
Is my unit broken, or is some multi triggering setting turned on for pads 9-16 ?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
It sounds like you did not have deselected SparkLE input in your DAW.
Can you give me details about your setup?
Are you using Spark in standalone mode or as a plugin?

Hi - I cant disable the private ports in Logic 9.1.8 the way you describe in the video manual - I simply see one Midi connection (SparkLE) - trying to create a new instrument and connect it to this port.
I got rid of the double sounds, but now my 1-8/9-16 button will not stay lit even if the button on the computer interface is lit miking it impossible to see what pads are selected. Same for Tune button and Seq, Bank, and Record.
Seems the whole controller is somehow out of sync with the computer interface.

Hi have a look here as i solved that issue but i hope kevin got a better one>

Hi,
SparkLE as only one MIDI port (not like Spark) so that's why you only see one port.
So yes, connect it to the instrument in the environment window.
Concerning the other problem, is it also happening in standalone mode?
If not this means that it does not come from the controller.

Hi - I solved this, here is how:
Instead of creating a new instrument and routing the SparkLE connection to this, I simply connected the SparkLE directly to the Midi Click object.
Now everything works as in standalone mode.
The private port error message still appears, but it looks like it does this for no particular reason - so I just checked the box to not show it again.
If the SparkLE really is picking up volume you should include some special Logic Pro configuration videos for it as this took quite some trial and error.

There is another quick work around in Logic and that is to unarm the track. As soon as you take it off record, the pads work as they should on 9-16. I've just received my SparkLE so I will report further discoveries when working with logic.

Hi guys, I got exactly the same problem in stand alone mode. any suggestions??
thanks!

It works exactly the same with Spark 2

Hello, if there is a video tutorial for solving the issues as mentioned above, please relink (the ones in this post appear to be dead) as I'm having the same issues with getting SparkLE to work with Logic as it should do. Currently all my pads double up and playback is a mess when run through the DAW.
Thanks

I'm having the same issue in stand alone mode. Whenever I select pads 9-16, they also trigger sounds 1-8 at the same time.
Just to clarify: When I hit pad 9 it also triggers the sound from pad 1, pad 10 also triggers the sound from pad 2, etc.
Is there something in prefs that I can change so I can just hear 9-16?
Thanks,
G

What is your setup? you must have the private ports on
-
I'm running spark 2 on an iMac os Sierra 10.12. I'm using the spark LE hardware controller for a stand alone.
Where do I check to see if I have the private ports on?
Thanks.

ok so its not that then. Are you on the latest version 2.3.0 and firmware 1.0.0.3 ?
Also turn of sparkle and got your mac audio and midi App in utilities and delete the midi drivers there called spark / sparkle
then plug spark le back in
Do this after you have updated.
its been a while since I've seen this problem and can't remember what caused it.

So I needed to update to 2.3.0. I went to utilities and I didn't see a Mac audio in there. There was only an audio midi setup app. Is it in the library?
I've attached a screen grab of the folder.
-
Hi, yes its the audio midi setup . in the midi window if you open the window big enough you will see the sparkle driver just delete this
but do this after updating . see screenshot. if your update will not work delete the driver first then plug the sparkle controller in this will load a new driver.

Ok makes sense. Thanks so much!! :D
-
So I'm pretty sure I deleted the sparkle in midi studio. Instead of hitting the remove device button, I dragged the sparkle icon to the trash but it just disappeared after it left the midi studio. I did this after I installed the update.
But I'm still getting the sounds of buttons 1-8 when I only want 9-16. Any suggestions?
-
Ok, did you make sure you have the latest firmware on sparkle controller you can see this in the about in the spark soft when connected.
I did have this issue but trying to think what caused it,As its been a while.?
in pref try changing the the midi drum map from spark to general midi . or in the software right click on a pad and change the assigned midi note . do this for all 16,
hope this helps
