Title: Arturia KeyLab Essential & Analog Lab V issues (NOT Analog Lab IV)
Post by: SoftSynthM on March 18, 2023, 08:02:26 am
Hello,

Is it just me or has Arturia heavily degraded Analog Lab V since Analog Lab IV!?

When using Analog Lab V with Keylab Essential, the following features have been stripped down, and they will NOT appear on the KeyLab Essential LCD menu anymore:

- Can't select 'Styles' from the keyboard Preset Browser & LCD
- The 'Clear All' option omitted (removed)
- You can't scroll through all the Category/Character/Styles just with a jog wheel (without pressing the Cat/Char, Preset, and arrow buttons)

When I fire up Analog Lab IV with Keylab Essential, the features are still there.

If this is not an instrument malfunction (I have the latest 1.1.10 firmware), then this is serious degradation. Can someone please confirm it would be sad to send the instrument back?

Can some Keylab Essential owner please confirm this?

Cheers.

Yeah, same issue here. I’m sticking with 4 for now. Only one instance of 5 work for me, second instance or an instance of 4 screws things up for me too.
Using Studio One on latest firmware.

Bad news.

After several follow-ups via email, Arturia's support confirmed that these functions has been removed.

Hard to understand the logic of making a product harder to use and heavily downgrading its original features.

KeyLab Essential (as well as MkII) now works like this when comparing Analog Lab 4 vs Analog Lab V.

These are (some) of the changes from Analog Lab 4 to Analog Lab V, when pressing the 'Cat/Char' button and the Prev/Next buttons it works like this:

Analog Lab 4     Analog Lab V
Instruments      Instruments
Type                  Type
Style Library     (Favorites)
Banks                Banks

On top of that, you can only make one (1) selection cumulative! That means you can only select something either 'Instrument', 'Type', 'Library', or 'Banks'.

Different from Analog Lab 4 in which KeyLab Essential (and MkII)) work as intended.
