Title: Expression
Post by: MajorFubar on July 04, 2022, 08:58:19 pm
Not sure if this will fall on deaf ears but the original Yamaha CS80 had an expression pedal input. The CS80V does not, and has not ever, responded to expression CC in any of its (so far) four iterations. Please can this be added. Your primary competitor's version of the CS80 does respond to expression and this is the one of the things that keeps drawing me back to it, instead of to your emulation.

You do have the EXP and WAH functionality - From at least V2 to V4 and i will assume from V1.
The buttons is far left of the keys as on the original.

When you enable the EXP, then expression midi CC11 control volume.
When you enable WAH, then expression midi CC11 control a WAH effect that i actually don't know  is the correct effect. In the hardware i think this button also controlled the volume, but in Arturias version you have to enable both EXP and WAH to do this. Adding a third button i think would have been a more authentic solution to get all 3 possibilities, but it can work authentic anyway.

As a modern addon i would like to have the Expression pedal as modulator in the MODULATION MIXER or in a Modulation Matrix. We had this possibility in the modulation matrix of earlier CS80 V versions. So this would be my feature request.

Right I'll have to look into this because up to now I have been unable to get this VST to ever respond to expression.

Thanks for the info, as always.
