Title: Generation of random sounds - scaled by percentage
Post by: StudioDeutz on June 29, 2022, 09:25:44 am
The Generation of a random patch is quite nice if you need to find inspiration.
An advantage would be to set the generation of random parameters to a certain percentage:

Example:
10% - only some parameter change by a low amount
up to 50% - only mod and filter operations are done
up to 100% - slightly a randomization of all parameter up to what we have currently pressing the "Generate" button.

The PB's generate function  doesn't randomize the voice parameters. It picks A and B sounds from other patches, morphs, copies the morphed sound to A or B then and repeats this process a few times. Sort of picking the DNA of other sounds and mutating that.

The random elements are which presets A and B parts gets picked from, how much it's morphed, how the morph is copied to A or B and how many times this happens.

I really love this feature, got me some great un-expected sounds that have a lot of character. I'm not sure if the starting sound we are on when launching the generation has any inlfuence (is it the starting A sound ?)
