Title: KeyStep not working

Hello I just got a KeyStep in pristine condition secondhand.

The box was missing the USB cable so I used one I could find at home to connect it to PC via USB. The buttons light up but there are no signs of communication between the devices.

Tried re-installing MIDI Control Center, to no avail.

Bought a new USB cable which explicitly writes DATA cable on its package - still no luck.

Do you think I am missing something or that this is a faulty unit?

There are these three devices listed in Device Manager. I wonder if it looks alright.

In Devices panel, the keyboard shows up like this. This cannot be a good thing I presume?

I'm experiencing almost exactly the same scenario, running Mac OSX (same in both Sierra or Catalina). Would appreciate any assistance!
