Title: Controlling my presets with Keylab MkII
Post by: RD ODub on October 13, 2021, 06:42:47 am
Longtime Arturia V Collection user here. I've never used Analog Lab because I've never been able to figure it out. But it's time to start. I just got a Keylab 49 MkII (have been using a different brand keyboard controller). Hooked it up, started AL5. I should be able to control my V Collection presets, right? (My Library/My Banks, click on a preset). In particular, I have a B3 V2 preset that I set up all nice with the Keylab - controlling volume, percussion, etc. Works great as a stand-alone. If I open that same preset in AL5, none of those controllers work. I open that preset in AL5, to try to map the controllers like they are in the stand-alone preset. That doesn't work (have to switch to Generic 9 Knobs + 9 Faders in the MIDI Controller box). What am I missing here? Tried it in both Analog Lab and User modes.  ??? ??? ???
Both KL Mk II and AL5 are up to date. I'm using a mid 2015 Macbook Pro 15" with Mac OS 10.15.5.

I have a Keystep 37 (and essential 61).
As I figured out, every Arturia instrument has it's own midi mapping (Midi config in the Advanced parameters).
More precisely, you're not "controlling your presets with MkII", you're controlling the Midi config of each instrument. You're probably able to control the AL with the default MkII midi config. When you load B3 (Pigment, Farfisa, etc.) in AL, the AL Midi config applies, not the B3 (Pigment, Farfisa, etc.).

You have make your midi mapping (Midi config) for AL and they will apply to all intruments you load in AL.
The B3 midi config you create is not saved with the B3 presets, it sticks with the B3 midi config.

Since you did it with B3, I presume you can do it with AL.
