Title: Doesn't recognize a longer cable

I recently bought a longer cable (same type: usb a to b), but the keyboard doesn't work when I use the new cable.  >:(

Does the keyboard just not recognize the new cable?

Welcome.

You shouldn't have any issue if the cable is 3m or less. Have you ruled out the possibility the cable is faulty?
