Title: Can't see 'Library', 'Studio', or 'Stage' buttons...
Post by: chocobuckle on March 28, 2021, 10:13:50 pm
I'm using Cubase 11 on Windows 10 and can't see  the 'Library', 'Studio', or 'Stage' buttons. See attatched screenshot. Any ideas? Also can't see the buttons in standalone mode either. Tried re-installing but no luck!

According to the applications release notes, then the buttons have been removed and replaced by the BACK button in the latest version. I don't know why, as it was the only visible and fastest way to navigate. It was one click in the same area of the application. More user friendly.

As it is now, then a EDIT PRESET button will appear at the bottom when hoovering the mouse over the preset info in the sidepanel when in Explore view. Clicking this will go to the Studio view.
A GO ON STAGE button will appear beside a selected playlists name header.

is there an up-to-date "What's new in Analog Lab 5" page anywhere? The GUI and some of the new features seem like a step backwards from 4, unless i'm missing something. All compatibility questions could be addressed there - Ableton 11 vs 10, Catalina vs Big Sur, etc. i feel like my precious time is slip slip slippin away trying to make 5 work with my keylab mk2.

Hi,

You have the manual. You can find it through the applications menu, or on the download pages.
And further release informations can be found in Arturia Software Center (ASC).
Informations about compatibilty with new MAC and perhaps with some DAWs can be found on the FAQ page.
But you will not find any comparasions charts.

This is the worst UI ruination ever in the history of Analog Lab.

This is like some demonic power took over the UI team at the company.

What a horrible horrible horrible user interface.

I am stunned at how awful this is.

MOUSE OVER TO THE FAR RIGHT AND THE BUTTON APPEARS AS IF BY MAGIC.  What fresh hell is this?   Arturia, you must hire some smarter developers who know how to make user interfaces.

WHAT ON EARTH POSSESSED YOU TO MAKE THE EDIT PRESET BUTTON INVISIBLE?

Let's imagine we designed houses this way.  You approach the house from the street, but there are no windows, and no doors, only a solid wall of bricks.

If you know where to go, you can walk through the fake wall and then, after you have gone far enough, the door appears.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

If a non-demon had designed this, the plugin or an icon representing a combi, would be visible as a thumbnail and you'd have an always visible edit button below that. So that you know that if you want to get into the details of this patch you could click anywhere over there.

Imagine you paid me a lot of money to give you advice on how to make user interfaces. Here you go:

1. Make all the buttons look like buttons, including the stupid "Open Prophet" label that appears when you mouse over a blank area, and the blank area where there should be an "Edit preset" button.

2.  Make all the buttons visible all the time. Don't hide them.

3. Make them all one color.  Say blue.

4. Make them have the same appearance.  And have them LOOK LIKE BUTTONS.

You are welcome.
