Title: V3-V4 Patch Differences
Post by: fenderchris on March 26, 2021, 11:45:25 am
On my system, Jup-8 V4 has 319 patches and Jup-8 V3 has 611.

That's a difference of about 400 !

Why does V4 have far fewer patches?

Hi fenderchris!
Well, the Jup v4 is very new, compared to the longevity of the Jupv3 that had 3 updates.
So since it's a new instrument, it has fewer patches, but, more presets are coming every month.
Check in Analog Lab V or on our website in Community/Presets, New Presets banks are coming every month, with some, for the newest Jup-V4.
Hope that answers your questions.
Best!

To add, just a bit.  Jup-8V 4 does not support keyboard splits or layers.  So  there are some patches ( at least 34 in Jup-8V 3 tagged with a style of Multi/Split) that are just not possible "as is" in the Jup-8V 4.  Maybe Arturia will put that capability, which was dropped in this version... back?  In the meantime, there are some patches that are not possible in this new version of Arturia's Jup-8V emulation anymore.
