I am not so much into the whole world of hardware and just wanted to buy something with keys to play chords for dub-techno-style-music.
I thought the Keystep 37 would be the perfect pick but after discovering the Keylab Essential 49, i do not really understand why i shouldn't spend 50 more bucks and get a lot more knobs and so son..?
Would love to understand when to buy Keystep, and when to buy Kaylab :o)

When portability and size is more important than range of functions.

My experience with Arturia synths and Keylab Essential 61 is the same as reported here:

The knobs and sliders are jumpy. The values can jump from 0 to 600 then to 300 and back to 0 or 600.
There are only four CC knobs on the K37 but they are very stable. You can map them to the four macros of Arturia synths, the most important features.
Addendum: The K37 keyboard is tiny. The Essential keyboard is much more comfortable. When I enter jazz chords in the K37 with four fingers (Bbmin7) some notes may not get depressed sufficiently. You have to get used to it.
