Title: Is the Arturia Prophet V3 random behavior normal?
Post by: aayaay94 on February 14, 2021, 06:37:29 pm
I used the Arturia Prophet V3 (preset "pure saw") to make a bassline which loops through the whole song. I noticed that it sometimes overlaps itself, changes volume and generally changes the sound randomly throughout the track. Especially noticeable after exporting, when you look at the waveforms. I wonder if that's normal to emulate a "real" synth or player, or is there is a knob to tell the Prophet to play every note 100% accurate like most other VSTs? I tried this in FL Studio and Ableton btw.

Hi,

From which Bank is the "Pure Saw" preset? I don't have it.

Keep in mind, that the OSCs is free running like on old analog synths. Arturia have not added a phase reset yet, but perhaps in the future.

Also you can read about Arturias TAE technology on the product pages. Like here: https://www.arturia.com/products/analog-classics/prophet-v/tae%C2%AE

As i don't have the preset, then i can't tell, if anything else is going on.
