Title: Controller mappings in V5 - am I missing something?
Post by: jayzhead on January 29, 2021, 10:14:50 pm
I have an Essential 49, and in V4 every preset comes pre-mapped with many useful operators for quick tweaking. In V5 they all seem to have the same dumb mapping that gives me a master eq and send effects. Not even organ drawbars, the most natural of mappings, seem to be there. What's that all about? I've been searching the software, trying to switch it back to the way it was in V4, but couldn't find one. Am I missing something? Because that just pretty much renders V5 useless to me.

I am afraid that you're doing nothing wrong, Arturia have completely screwed mappings for their hardware controllers with V5.

I have a KeyLab Mkii and it's exactly the same - tight integration with V4 actually made it feel like you were using a hardware instrument, no need to look at computer monitor etc. Now completely ruined, a truly daft decision.

I'm glad v5 came as free upgrade to v7 collection users, so I can essentially choose to ignore it for the time being until they fix it - only then will I be tempted to upgrade

OMG. WHere do I even start. I wanted the upgrade to lab 4 offer to go from "lite" to full v4 and 6500 presets. Clicked on it, bought it, and got V?!?

Went back and checked, sure enough when you click the upgrade link it takes you to V5.

A 3rd of the presets and the mappings are lame. B3s with no drawbars? All the knobs are rather generic much like whoever is programming now, a bunch of knobs. We don't get this money for free. V5 is a complete waste of money, garbage
