Title: Looking for the Ableton routing script
Post by: evancoleman on November 24, 2012, 06:26:29 pm
Is there still a mapping script/GUI that allows spark to use individual tracks in Ableton?

- Place Spark on a MIDI track
- In Spark open the bottom window, go to the mixer tab
- Press and hold the first button under the track number, in the popup menu you'll see a list with "Master" and many "Out x" entries
- For a test select "Out 2" i.e. for a kick track (with some sound on it)
- In Live now go to an empty audio track in the session view and arm it
- Under the clip slots, click on the "Audio from.." popup menu and select your Spark track (normally named "Spark")
- A new menu will appear just below with "Post Mixer" as standard entry. You will also hear the master output from Spark on this track.
- Open this menu and if Spark is just playing back a kick, you should see a little green blinking volume icon next to the entry "3/4 Spark"
- Select this entry and now you should see and hear only the kick playing in the new audio channel

With this procedure you can go on for every track in Spark, just keeping in mind that the method of numbering the tracks/channels are different in Spark and Live. Both are stereo channels/tracks, but "Out 2" in Spark means "3/4 Spark" in Live, "Out 3" in Spark means "5/6 Spark" in Live, "Out 4" in Spark means "7/8 Spark" in Live and so on.

Hope that helps ;)

Oh, and before this question occurs - no, there's no mapping file reasonably available, because Spark has a GUI-supported routing-out map and all DAW's have their own incoming mapping standards.

the problem for me is, that its not possible to save/overwrite the factory projects, which means everytime you change a factory project you have to do all the routing again, which is quiet a pain in the ass.
is there really no way, to automate this in ableton?
in fl-studio its not a problem, once you internally routed the plugin in fl, the only thing you have to do is to use the multiouts of sparks mixer. but in ableton you have to do the internal routing everytime again.
is there really no workaround for this?
