Title: Controlling LFO's 2 & 3 or Env amount by way of a controller?
Post by: fourdubs on August 12, 2020, 10:26:02 pm
Hello folks.  Pardon my ignorance, but what is the process for controlling the amount of a modulator by way of a controller.  For instance, if I want aftertouch to control the amount of LFO 2 being sent to Steiner filter cutoff.  I do not want regular modulation of Steiner filter by LFO 2 . . . only when aftertouch is engaged.

Thanks

Never mind guys.  Figured it out.  Sorry about that!

Hi, it would be nice to share your finding so everyone can learn. I am guessing you used the mod matrix to link LFO2 to Aftertouch, and linked LFO2 to the Steiner Filter cutoff?

Hey Knasser,

what you have to do to achieve this is setting the LFO to modulate the Filter in the ModMatrix and then holding one of the freely assignable round buttons on top of the matrix down while pressing that field in the matrix, where you just set up that modulation. This will create a voltage controlled modulation depth for this connection and you can then set aftertouch to modulate that newly created column.

This is one of the MxBs strongest features, especially since the extra slots since 2.0.

The Pitch Env settings apply a slope that adjusts the oscillator's pitch over the long haul.
