Title: Analog lab 4 VST2.4 missing
Post by: Montfrooij on June 29, 2020, 11:48:13 am
Hi,

I'm using Analog Lab 4 with Propellerheads reason 10.4 and after a recent update to Analog Lab 4.2.0.3820 the VST fails to open in Reason.
I can't find the Analog Lab vst file anymore, except for in the program files\vst3 folder.
BUT. To my best knowledge Reason only supports VST2 (and that was working until the last update from Arturia)

I'm not 100% sure if this is the issue (you can never be sure about that on a Windows machine ;) ) but it looks like the VST2 file is not included in the latest update.

Can anybody confirm this and (more importanly) is there a solution to get it back?

Thanks in advance,

Peter

Hi,

I suggest you do a windows search for Analog Lab in case you have installed it elsewhere, and a reinstall of Analog Lab, if you don't have it. This can be a user install error too, as Windows normally make it's own install path or other things by it self.
Perhaps also check reason is reading the correct path to the VST2.

Thanks for the reply.
I already did a re install from Analog Lab, but the vst2 dll is missing in the folder where it was.

Where 'should' I be looking for the vst dll?

Thanks in advance?

If you have installed using Arturia Software Center (ASC), then you can find the path in ASCs preferences.
If you have installed using an individual installer, then it's on the path you set during the install.
But as i suggested, then you can also use Windows search function. It's a good tool for different situations.

If you have'nt set any paths yourself, then perhaps you'll find the VST on one of the paths you can find here: https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/115000177084-VST-plug-in-locations-on-Windows
I can't remenber Arturias default path, as i set my own, but it's one in that article i think.

The VST3 have the standard location, that you also can see in the article.

Be sure your DAW read the correct locations.

Plugins should not change path, unless you install it on another location.
If it's still missing, then have you unchecked it to be installed?

Found the folder in the ASC preferences.
Not sure why it changed, but somehow it did.
Thanks a bunch!
