Title: AudioFuse 8Pre no longer supports linux, android, ios?
Post by: oliver on June 08, 2020, 06:39:40 pm
Sooo,

Last time I checked Linux, Android and iOS where supported according to the website.

https://www.arturia.com/products/audio/audiofuse-8pre/details

In the section labeled "Spoiled for choice" there are only Mac and Windows left.

So the interface I specifically choose because of Linux support no longer has linux support? Btw, you forgot to remove linux in the manual, page 4. Still says "USB-C interface compatible with PC, macOS, & Linux, fully USB 2.0 compatible"

What's up with that?

Arturia wanted to cater to the Linux audience by slapping "Linux compatible" on their USB Class Compliant device, but they forgot that they would have to release some way to interact with the controls of the device from Linux (eg. port the AudioFuse Control Center to Linux). Honestly, a simple API would have been sufficient, because Linux people come up with their own solutions, that's how we roll. But instead they just removed the "Linux compatible" stamp after we went and bought the device.
