Title: A third sequence editing mode
Post by: ThinkerThunker on April 25, 2020, 10:45:14 pm
I've seen in this forum where maybe others are wanting the same thing, we're just saying it differently.

The Minibrute 2S allows two ways to record sequences that I've found.

One is the "real-time" sequence recording mode where you play the notes in and pressure, velocity and all are recorded the way you played it. And two, it has a "step recording" mode, where you literally have to select each step, dial in a note, it's gate, velocity, pressure, etc ..., or leave it blank. Then repeat until you've filled the sequence.

Real-time is sometimes too fast and the current step mode can be a bit tedious.

What I would love to have is a mixture of the two where you have a step recording mode that allows you play in one note (instead of dialing it in, ) the sequence then advances to the next step, and so on until the sequence, from 16 to 64 is done. My Roland JD-XI works that way, it's a great work flow. I love it.

+1

This is the step recording mode I'm used to, and using the most, on the MicroFreak and the MatrixBrute.

Don't hold your breath. Arturia has abandoned this product.

Hmmm ... I hate to hear the Minicrute 2 has been abandoned. I just got mine.

I have however found I can play my Minibrute 2S via step-patterns created on my Roland JD-XI. Then just press Shift Record on the MB and it will record the pattern. Takes two seconds. But still, it would be nice if the MB 2S had the step-record mode.

Thanks for the replies!
