Title: Samples in ABleton modified by externel Synth

Hi @ all - honestly I am quite new in this music creating business - and maybe my question is stupid, but I am very thankful about any help or link.
I would like to modify an audio sample (or clip) loaded in Ableton Live (v9) with an external Synth (my Arturia Minibrute) - so that e.g. I can you the Cutoff or Resonance on that sample - is that possible ? and how??
